Zora Orelia Davidson

January 4, 1918 — October 6, 2012

Zora Orelia "Babe" Davidson, age 94, of Texarkana, TX, formerly of Elm Mott, passed away Saturday evening, October 6, 2012 at Christus St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Bold Springs Cemetery near West, with Rev. Terry McElrath officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. Mrs. Davidson was born January 4, 1918 in Tokio, the daughter of Tom and Nancy (Ryals) McMorrough. She attended school in Tokio. On November 3, 1935 she was united in marriage to William Houston "Jim" Davidson Jr. in Lakeview. He preceded her in death on July 22, 1974. Zora was the cafeteria manager at Northcrest Elementary School in Elm Mott before retiring in 1986. She was a member of Buchanan First Baptist Church of Texarkana for the past twelve years and previously a member of the First Baptist Church of Elm Mott for over 50 years, where she taught Sunday School. Zora was also a member of the former Connally/La Vega Lunchroom Association. She enjoyed traveling and especially loved spending time with her family. Zora is also preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Annie Erlanson, Louise Davidson, Nell Berger, and Gladys McMorrough; and three brothers, Bentford McMorrough, F. "Hike" McMorrough, and Sam McMorrough. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Davidson of Texarkana; three nieces, Helen Davidson, Nancy Balch and husband Bill, and Barbara Robinson; two nephews, Travis Davidson and wife Kitty and Charlie Berger and wife Charlotte, and many great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends, including Peggy Davidson, Lottie Hollingsworth, Arla Hines and husband Billy Don, Patty Robinson and husband Jack, Eddie Smith and wife Tana, and their children and grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly as they did her. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Elm Mott.
