Wm. C. Dr. Baird

Dr. William C. "Bill" Baird, age 82, of Waco, passed away Monday morning, October 29, 2012 at Providence Health Center in Waco. Private services will be held. Bill was born October 15, 1930 in DeWitt, IL the son of Lacy Ernest and Hallie Pearl (Williams) Baird. He attended schools in Ft. Worth and graduated from Poly High School in 1948. He then received a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Wesleyan College before receiving his doctorate degree in dentistry from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1959. Bill had a practice in Ft. Worth and Meridian for over 10 years before retiring in 1971. He served his country with the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War. He enjoyed woodworking and ceramics. Bill is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dr. Colvin Baird, John Baird, Douglas Baird, and Robert Baird; and a sister, Jean Sheets. Survivors include two daughters, Nanette Strasburger and husband Tom of Colorado Springs, CO and Angelia Whitney and husband Byron of Valley Mills; a son, William F. "Rick" Baird of Chandler, AZ; brother, James Baird; sisters, Becky Day, Ruth Baird, and Mary Baird; 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and one on the way; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
