Willie Mae Holecek, age 84, of West, passed away late Sunday evening, November 9, 2014 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home by Janice Kaluza, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Paul Hudson and Msgr. Isidore Rozycki as celebrants. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Willie Mae was born May 29, 1930 in Hill County, the daughter of Willie Joe and Frances (Pustejovsky) Pokluda. She attended Abbott and Alligator Creek schools. On November 22, 1949 she was united in marriage to Henry J. Holecek in Abbott. Henry preceded her in death on March 23, 1985. Willie Mae worked in Dietary Services at St. Mary's School, West Elementary School and West Community Hospital. She was a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughter's of America Court #829 and the V.F.W. Post #4819 Ladies Auxiliary. Willie Mae enjoyed taking gambling trips, cooking, attending Friday morning coffee at the Village Bakery, gardening, canning and making chicken noodle soup. She especially loved spending time with her family. Willie Mae is also preceded in death by her parents; her guardian angel of 15 years, Robert Pavelka; and a brother, Bill "Swamp" Pokluda. Survivors include three sons, David Holecek and wife Sandra of Chalk Bluff, T.J. Holecek and wife Peggy of West and Nathan Holecek and wife Kelly of China Spring; two daughters, Jackie Davis and husband Wesley of Granbury and Rachel Hoffman and husband Teddy of West; a brother, Daniel Pokluda and wife Jeanette; sisters, Georgia Juricek, Lois Ann Turley and Doris Hutyra and husband Roy; a sister-in-law, Lou Pokluda; 12 grandchildren, Kelly Meudt and husband Andy, Matthew Holecek, Hayden Holecek and Kelly, Tanner Holecek and wife Michelle, Hayley Wollard and husband Cory, Jessica Helfers and husband Matt, Christina Holecek, Kyle Holecek, Adam Davis and Laura, Lauren Davis, Presley Hoffman and Hadley Hoffman; 9 great grandchildren, Brailey, Connor, Lainey, Landry, Easton, Mason, Marley, Lilly and Xander; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including Shannon Pavelka. Pallbearers are Bill Hutyra, Damon Pokluda, Anthony Vrba, Ernie Ruiz, Jerry Mazanec and Jeffrey George. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's School or the V.F.W. Post #4819 of West.
