William Maximilian "Willie" Urban, age 89, of West, formerly of Bellmead, danced his way into Heaven with his three children by his side listening to the Czech music he loved so much early Wednesday morning, September 7, 2011 at Providence Health Center in Waco. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Friday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel by Janice Kaluza, with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Military graveside Rites will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, conducted by West V.F.W. Post No. 4819. Mr. Urban was born May 27, 1922 in Abbott, the son of Peter Paul and Ludmila (Soukup) Urban. He attended Abbott and the Treadwell schools. Willie served his country with the United States Army during World War II. On August 11, 1947 he was united in marriage to Henrietta Josephine Kaska in West. She preceded him in death on June 2, 2010. Willie worked as a mechanic and body shop technician for Mac's Garage in Bellmead and Frank Weaver Pontiac in Waco before retiring in 1981. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West and a former member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bellmead, where he served as an usher. Willie was also a member of the Waco Veterans of Foreign War and volunteered his time for the Meal-On-Wheels Program. He enjoyed fishing, had a wonderful sense of humor, was known as a Mr. Fix It, and enjoyed holidays. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and family. Willie is also preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Jessica Urban; six brothers, Jim Urban, Rudolf Urban, Henry Urban, Adolf Urban, Benny Urban, and Eddie Urban; and three sisters, Clara Janda, Christine Slovak, and Millie Rejcek. Survivors include two daughters, Anna Urbanovsky and husband Richard of West and Catherine Devorsky and husband Bobby of Bellmead; a son, Anthony Urban and wife Mary of West; a sister, Mary Rejcek and husband Louis of Hillsboro; a sister-in-law, Adela Kaska; grandchildren, Denise Pruski and husband Charles, Mark Urbanovksy and wife Kris, Holly Johnson and husband Michael, G.T. Devorsky and wife Melissa, Marsha Rogers and husband Jeff, and Michael Devorsky and wife Jessica; great grandchildren, Alexis Urbanovsky, Levi Urbanovsky, Westin Pruski, Cassie Pruski, Kade Rogers, Kallen Rogers, Maximilian Devorsky, and one on the way; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Mark Urbanovsky, Michael Johnson, G.T. Devorsky, Jeff Rogers, Michael Devorsky, Charles Pruski and Westin Pruski. Honorary pallbearers are Alexis Urbanovsky, Levi Urbanovsky, Kade Rogers, Kallen Rogers, Maximilian Devorsky and Cassie Pruski. Memorials may be made to the West Rest Haven Memorial Fund or Providence Hospice.
