Wayne O. Petty

Wayne O. Petty, age 93, of Waco, passed away early Thursday afternoon, January 15, 2015 at The Atrium in Bellmead. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 19, 2015 at Bold Springs Cemetery near West, with Minister Kevin McMullen officiating. Mr. Petty will lie-in-state from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. Wayne was born October 23, 1921 in West, the son of Ory and Allie (Cox) Petty. He attended school in West. On March 8, 1941 he was united in marriage to Lucille Blankenstein in Waco. Lucille preceded him in death on April 27, 2002. Wayne worked for Cameron Mills in Waco for 43 years before retiring in 1983. He was a member of the Robinson Church of Christ. Wayne enjoyed fishing and swimming. He also loved spending time with his church family, especially Kenneth McMullen. Wayne is also preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Connie Montgomery and her husband Clark; brother, Robert Petty; and sisters, Minnie Lee Wolf and Mildred Wolf. Survivors include grandchildren, Tina England and Kelley Montgomery and wife Lori; great grandchildren, Brayden and Brysen; a good friend, Kathy Laney; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bold Springs Cemetery Association.
