Wanda Mcmahon

Wanda Joyce (Mosley) McMahon, age 91, of Axtell, passed away early Sunday afternoon, October 6, 2024 at Providence Hospital in Waco.


Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 11, 2024 at Olive Branch Baptist Church near Axtell, with Dr. Rex Bland officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West.


Wanda was born on July 30, 1933, in Waco, Texas, to Arthur and Ada Mae (Gassaway) Mosley. She graduated from Axtell High School in 1953 where she was a cheerleader and played basketball. She married William "Bill" McMahon at Olive Branch Baptist Church on March 7, 1955. Bill preceded her in death on July 11, 2003. Wanda was a member of the Olive Branch Baptist Church and owned and operated Brazos Janitorial Service until her retirement. Wanda had a zest for life; she loved dancing, traveling, and going on cruises. She also enjoyed gambling, playing bingo, and was always seeking out fun and adventure. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her beloved 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Additionally, she was a passionate motorcycle enthusiast. Wanda's vibrant smile, spirit, and dedication to her loved ones will be fondly remembered.


Wanda is also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Diana Mae McMahon; a grand daughter, Tracy Ann Glatter; and her brother, Wayne Mosley.


Survivors include her children, Edward Arthur McMahon and wife Mellisa of Abilene, Rosalind Courter and husband Brian of Chalk Bluff, Roxanne Miller and husband Eddie of Lacy Lakeview, Russell McMahon of Lacy Lakeview and honorary son, Larry Herren of Detroit Michigan; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.


Active pallbearers are Edward McMahon, Russell McMahon, Eddie Miller, Brian Courter, Ryan McMahon and Russell Lee McMahon. Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well Butch Mosley, and Larry Herren.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Olive Branch Baptist Church, West Rest Haven or charity of choice.
