Wanda June Davis

Wanda June Davis, age 81, of Leroy, passed away Thursday afternoon, August 16, 2018 at Senior Care in Hewitt. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 20, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in West, with Dr. John Crowder officiating. Burial will follow at Billington Cemetery near Axtell. The family will receive visitors from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. June was born June 6, 1937 in Billington, the daughter of Clarence and Elna (Tucker) Brady. She attended schools in Axtell. On June 13, 1953 she was united in marriage to Lewis E Davis in Waco. June worked for Mix Printing Company in Dallas for 19 years before retiring in 1995. She then worked for Albertson's in Waco for 8 years. June was a very faithful member of the First Baptist Church of West, where she worked in the nursery and helped with the Fall Family Fun Night. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, collecting cookbooks, traveling and playing games with her grandchildren. She was known to be a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother. June is preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Brad Davis; and son-in-law, Floyd Wyatt. Survivors include her beloved husband of 65 years, Lewis Davis of Leroy; her daughters, Pat Wyatt of Billington, Anita Dorris of Waco and Connie Davis and husband Roy of Leroy; grandchildren, Christi, Stephanie, Jennifer, Kim, John and Amy; great grandchildren, T.J., Destiny, Chestin, Tatum, Chanci, Tinsler, Matthew, Kaleb, Michael, Samantha, Kyle, Avery, Cole and Kenzie; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Roy Davis, John Davis, Ty Sanchez, Victor Hernandez, Leonard Graham and George Nors Jr. Honorary pallbearers are her great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund.
