Wanda Adair, age 87, of West, passed away late Tuesday afternoon, June 14, 2022 at her residence. Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 20, 2022 at the West Church of Christ, with Minister Rusty Kwast officiating. Burial will follow at White Rock Cemetery near Ross. The family will receive visitors from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel. Wanda was born November 4, 1934 in Moulton, the daughter of Lee and Beulah (Maywald) Wick. She was a graduate of Harlandale High School in San Antonio. On August 16, 1952 she was united in marriage to Donald Adair in San Antonio. Donald preceded her in death on November 1, 2021. Wanda was a longtime and faithful member of the West Church of Christ, where she was very active in teaching children of all ages and ladies bible class, and was church camp counselor for several years. She was a mother, homemaker and worked alongside her husband on the family farm. She was a member of West Kiwanis Club, West Public Library Board of Directors, and the West PTA. Wanda was Camp Fire Leader for over 50 years, and raised the flag and worked in the ticket booth at West Trojan football games. She wrote an article for the West News called "West Happenings" for many years. Wanda enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking wedding cakes, oil painting, and playing the piano. She passionately loved her family. Wanda is also preceded in death by her parents; her second mother, Lois Wick; her son, Randy Adair; a son-in-law, Cory Stewart; a great-grandson, Levi Johnson; great-granddaughters, Riley and Emma Adair; her siblings, Donna Tobias and Ken Wick; and a brother-in-law, Jim Tabor. Survivors include her children, Donna and Rusty Kwast of Abbott, Gary and Brenda Adair of West, Diane Adair of West, Larry and Deri Adair of Rowlett, Melissa Adair-Stewart of West, and Terry and Shilo Adair of Abbott; 18 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; her siblings, Larry and Barbara Royal, Beverly and Chet Moore, Sandra Tabor, and Danell and Steven Foster; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Brian Kwast, Nick Kwast, Les Tullar, David Adair, Colton Nowlin, Sam Michel, A.J. Shipman, and Keith Henson. Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eastern European Mission, West Volunteer Ambulance Association, or the West Public Library.
