Walter Womack, age 71, of Aquilla, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at his residence. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday at Prairie Grove Cemetery near Aquilla, with Kenneth Vochoska officiating. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. Walter was born on February 23, 1937 in Artesia, New Mexico, the son of Rob L. and Winnie (Weatherford) Womack. He graduated from Aquilla High School in 1955 and served his country in the United States Navy. Walter worked as a rancher and electrician. He enjoyed playing cards and dominoes and was a big baseball fan, especially of the New York Yankees. Walter was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association, and First Baptist Church of Aquilla. Survivors include two brothers, Rob Lee Womack, Sr. and wife Coranell of Gholson and Billy Womack of Aquilla; two sisters, Paula Gregory and husband Gayle of Grand Prairie and Lori Eisma and husband Joe of West; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Rob Lee Womack, Jr., Andrew Womack, John Mitchell, Greg Mitchell, and Joseph Eisma. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Volunteer Ambulance Association, or the American Diabetes Association
