Walker Ronaldson Young, Jr.

Walker Young, age 78, of Waco, passed away early Tuesday afternoon, June 9, 2020 at Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco. Graveside Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at Billington Cemetery near Axtell, with Rev. Ronnie Holmes officiating. Walker was born March 20, 1942 in Waco, the son of Virginia (Pickens) and Walker Young Sr. He attended Sun Dean High School in Corpus Christi. On June 22, 1963 he was united in marriage to Carolyn Landrum in Waco. Walker worked as a sprinkler fitter for McNamara Custom Services in Waco before retiring in 2001. He was a member of Sprinkler Fitters Local Union #669. Walker enjoyed listening to music and woodworking. His family was his life, and he loved spending time with them. Walker is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Catherine Young; and a brother, Gale Young. Survivors include his beloved wife of 57 years, Carolyn Young of Waco; his son, Kenneth Wayne Young of Waco; brothers, Clarence William Young and wife Cindy and Billy Ray Young; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
