Virgil G. Schuetz

Virgil G. Schuetz, age 73, of Elm Mott, passed away early Monday morning, December 29, 2014 at his residence, surrounded by his wife and children. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2015 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with his nephew, Rev. Eddie Scheler Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Gerald Cemetery near Leroy. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Virgil was born June 29, 1941 in Hollister, CA the son of Carl A. and Lydia (Lander) Schuetz. He attended the Ross School and was a 1959 graduate of West High School, prior to receiving a business degree from 4-C Business College. On July 9, 1966 he was united in marriage to Sandra Diane Scheler in Bellmead. Virgil was a route salesman for Automatic Chef, the Lance Company and Tom's Peanuts, all in Waco. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bellmead where he served on the Board of Education and was an Usher. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association, American Legion Post #121 and was the president of the Gerald Cemetery Association. Virgil enjoyed gardening and tinkering in his workshop. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Virgil is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carol Ann Rodriguez. Survivors include his beloved wife of 48 years, Sandra Diane Schuetz of Elm Mott; a son, Dwain L. Schuetz and wife Ginger and their children, Brittany and Justin Schuetz of Venus; a daughter, Renee Schuetz and her children, Kadale Kolar and Brandon Michael Schuetz of Elm Mott; grandchildren, Brittany Schuetz, Justin Schuetz, Kadale Kolar and Brandon Michael Schuetz; brothers-in-law, Phil Rodriguez and Eddie Ray Scheler and wife Sandra; Aunts, Irene Janke, Pat Lander and Grace Lander; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Kadale Kolar, Justin Schuetz, Brandon Michael Schuetz, Gary Bates, Milton Peterson and Brittany Schuetz. Honorary pallbearers are Wilford Schuetz, Jim Lillie, John Lander, James Holacka, David Suggs and his friends of the West High School Class of 1959. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2nd Timothy 4:7. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gerald Cemetery Association.
