Veronica Laubert

Veronica Frances Laubert, age 87, of West, passed away peacefully in her sleep Thursday evening, April 11, 2024 at her residence.

A rosary will be recited 5:00 p.m. Tuesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at St. Martin's Catholic Church, with Rev. Walter Dhanwar as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery.

Veronica was born October 17, 1936 near West, to Frank and Mary (Sykora) Grones. On May 28, 1960 she embarked on her greatest adventure yet, building a loving family of her own. She married Joseph Laubert, and together they had four children. A devoted wife and mother, Veronica poured her heart and soul into nurturing her family, making sure they always felt cherished and supported.

Veronica was a lady of many talents. She was a talented seamstress and sewed most of the family clothes. She was an avid gardener and her culinary skills were legendary. No one could resist the delicious aromas that emanated from her kitchen. Whether she was whipping up a batch of cookies, kolaches, or preparing a hearty meal for the family, she infused every dish with love. She enjoyed driving around the countryside, traveling, playing dominoes with the senior group at church, but most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. She taught her granddaughters how to sew and made sure they knew "nothing is better than a sharp pair of scissors", played pranks on her grandsons, let them eat ice cream at 10:00 p.m., and showered them with love. Veronica will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Although she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit will live on in the countless lives she touched.

Veronica is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Evelina Lenart; brothers-in-law, Raymond Lenart and Freddie Uptmor; and her husband of 50 years, Joseph Louis Laubert Sr.

Survivors include her four children, Joe Laubert Jr. and wife Judy, Donna Herbert and husband Mike, David Laubert, and Patricia Baum and husband Doug; her grandchildren, Joe Laubert III and wife Adriana, Tena Nelson and husband Kris, Hunter Herbert, Vanessa Baum and husband Nick Keller, Delany Baum, and Pecos Baum; her great grandchildren, Gunner Laubert, Eric Laubert, Andrew Parker, and Benjamin Nelson; her sisters, Helen Uptmor and Nancy Polansky and husband John; and a host of extended family members and friends who will carry her memory in their hearts forever.

Active pallbearers are Keith Barak, Pecos Baum, Kevin Brown, Nick Keller, Zack Krucenski, Joe Laubert III and Hunter Herbert.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to Community Healthcare of Texas.
