Thomas R. "Tommy" Tubbs Jr., age 76, of Bluff Dale, passed away late Saturday afternoon, March 28, 2020 at Lake Granbury Medical Center in Granbury. Private services will be held at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Rev. Charles Blaylock officiating. Family graveside services will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Cemetery near West. Tommy will lie-in-state Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial service for friends and family will be held at a later date. Tommy was born October 12, 1943 in Waco, the son of Thomas and Margie (Brink) Tubbs. He was a 1961 graduate of Abilene High School and went on to receive a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas in Arlington. On October 18, 1986 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Karlik in Arlington. Tommy was a manager in the information technology department for Vought Aircraft in Grand Prairie for over 35 years before retiring in 1998. Tommy enjoyed playing with his new puppy, doing crossword puzzles and tinkering with things, especially at the ranch. He loved telling jokes, having fun and getting together with family. Tommy is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Donald Tubbs; and a granddaughter, Laura Harris. Survivors include his beloved wife of 34 years, Elizabeth Tubbs of Bluff Dale; his children, Bo Harris and wife Monica of Granbury, Laura Blaylock and husband Charlie of Azle, Jamie Tubbs of Los Angeles, CA, and Andrea Hawes of Gober; a stepson, Kelly Moore and wife Melissa of Nashville, TN; a sister, Kay Massoletti and husband Larry; a sister-in-law, Jeannie Tubbs; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and one on the way; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Bo Harris, Will Harris, Jordan Williams, James Harris, John Hawes, James Hawes and Dusty Blaylock. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Lung Association, American Heart Association or St. Mary's Cemetery.
