Tommy Moore

Thomas Ray "Tommy" Moore, age 68, of West, passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday, July 19, 2022 in West, surrounded by the love of his family. A rosary will be recited 6:00 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2022, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. John Boiko as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Tommy was born August 31, 1953 in Lubbock, the son of Ray and Lewellyn (Kuehler) Moore. He attended St. Mary's Catholic School, St. Louis Catholic School and Reicher High School, all in Waco. On May 29, 1976 he was united in marriage to Barbara Makovy in West. Tommy worked in the transportation industry for a number of freight companies for over 40 years before his retirement. He then went to work for Alliance Auction in Ross. T0mmy was always the life of the party at family events and enjoyed traveling, being outdoors, and camping. He loved spending time with his family and especially treasured time with his grandchildren and often sang "You are my Sunshine" to them. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. Tommy is preceded in death by his father, Ray K. Moore; his parents-in-law, Charlie and Margaret Makovy; a sister, Debbie Aupperle; a brother, Timothy Moore; a nephew, David Moore; and brothers-in-law, Ernie Makovy and Jerry Ellis. Survivors include his beloved wife of 46 years, Barbara Moore of West; his mother, Lewellyn Moore of Waco; his children, Jennifer Johnson and husband Kevin of Lorena, Tamara Robinson and husband Joseph of McKinney, and Gregory Moore and wife Athena of West; his grandchildren, Kendall Johnson and fiance Ryan Harrison, Kourtney Montalbano and husband Mark, Konnor Johnson, Ellisa Cotton, Aubrey Robinson, Bryson Robinson, Noah Moore, and Anistyn Moore; brother, Tony Moore and wife Sandy; sisters, Denise Holmes and husband Phil, Donna Ellis, and Danette Stranacher and husband Richard; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Petter and husband Tommy, Bernice Dulock and husband Doug, Nancy Castelin and husband Nate; brother-in-law, Leo Makovy and wife Becky; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Tony Fox, Greg Teague, Nick Petter, Chris Dulock, David Pepi, and Tony Moore. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's School Endowment Fund.
