Thomas Woodruff, age 75, of Aquilla, passed away late Saturday evening, March 10, 2007 at Providence Health Center in Waco. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, with Minister Glenn Gray and Minister Wendell McPhearson officiating. Burial will follow at Vaughan Cemetery near Aquilla. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Woodruff was born November 21, 1931 near Lorena, the son of Phillip R. and Hallie Viola (Holder) Woodruff. He attended Bynum school and graduated from Abbott Hich School. He was united in marriage to Reta Jean Gardner on March 27, 1954 in Tokio. He was a truck driver for Abbott Hay & Grain for many years. He was also the main mechanic for CertainTeed in Hillsboro for 18 years, retiring in 1989. He loved raising cattle, pigs, and collecting junk. Mr. Woodruff served as President of Prairie Grove Cemetery Association, and was a member of Aquilla Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife Reta Jean Woodruff of Aquilla; a daughter, Debra Kay Hall and her husband Steve of Temple; a brother, Eugene Woodruff and his wife Sharla of Abbott; two sisters, Virginia Sullins of Abbott, and Nita Johnson and her husband Fred of Peoria; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Justin Lewis, Burl Shelton, Billy Pavelka, Ted Justin Helm, Rick Sullins, Lance Sullins, Phil Woodruff and Greg Woodruff. Honorary pallbearers are Donald Horn, Jerry Maynard, Charles Bottom, Judd Earl Woodruff and Livy Etter. Memorials may be made to the Aquilla Volunteer Fire Department.
