Thomas Howard, Porter, age 50, of Willow Park, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2005 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Saturday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Minister Ronnie Cope officiating. Private burial will follow at Bold Springs Cemetery near West. Mr. Porter was born on August 1, 1955 in Waco, the son of William Henry and Charlotte Marie "Polly" Busby Porter. He graduated from Ft. Worth High School in 1973 and then attended Tarrant County Junior College for Law Enforcement before entering into the Ft. Worth Police Academy. Thomas worked as a Police Officer for the Ft. Worth Police Department for over nineteen years until his retirement on October 29, 2005. He loved to play golf, ride motorcycles and enjoyed watching all sports on television. Survivors include his mother, Charlotte "Polly" Porter of Ft. Worth; special friends, Jay Fowler and Laurie Roten, both of Ft. Worth; three uncles, Howard Smith and wife Dorothy of McGregor, Stanley Miller and wife Mary of Hewitt and Frank Busby and wife Paula of Ft. Worth; and many other relatives and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be the Ft. Worth Police Officers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fort Worth Police Association.
