Thomas Ray "Tommy" Podsednik, age 91, of Arlington, passed away Monday, March 17, 2025 at Town Hall Estates in Arlington.
A rosary will be recited 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, followed by visitation until 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2025 at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery.
Tommy was born February 14, 1934, in Tours, the youngest child of Anton and Annie (Vrba) Podsednik. Tommy's early education took place at St. Martin School in Tours, laying the foundation for a life marked by hard work and deep faith. On November 25, 1961, Tommy married Millie Ann Pustejovsky in a ceremony that began a loving partnership that lasted over six decades. Together, they raised a family filled with laughter and cherished moments. Tommy proudly served his country with the United States National Guard of Texas and Army Reserves, embodying a spirit of service that continued throughout his life. As a founding member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Arlington, he was deeply immersed in his faith and dedicated to helping others, reflecting his unwavering commitment to his community. He also held memberships in KJT Society #60 and KJZT Society #45, both in Tours, where he was honored with a 75-year pin, was an active member of the United Auto Workers Union Local #276, and a longtime blood donor for Carter BloodCare. For 42 years, Tommy was a materials handler for General Motors Corporation in Arlington, a role through which he demonstrated his strong work ethic and dedication to his craft. Throughout his life he enjoyed gardening, deer hunting, listening to Polka music, and supporting his grandchildren in their sports and activities. A devoted fan of the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life.
Tommy is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Edward, Edmund, Frank, and Norbert "Jim" Podsednik; and sisters, Agnes Straten, Christine Pratka, Sister Marie Podsednik, Mary Dulock, Bennie Mae Pustejovsky, and Helen Hrabal.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 63 years, Millie Ann Podsednik of Arlington; his children, Terri Podsednik of Arlington, Darrell Podsednik of Arlington, Lana Podsednik of Arlington, Karen Lee and husband Shane of Gainesville, Patricia Woody and husband Scott of Mansfield, and Jason Podsednik of Napa, CA.; Tommy's legacy will also live on through his grandchildren, Monica Flinn, Thomas Flinn, Kevin Flinn and wife Stephanie, Hannah Podsednik, Gage Lee, Payne Lee, Kate Woody, and Jenna Woody; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers are Thomas Pustejovsky, Duane Podsednik, Bryan Dulock, Thomas Flinn, Kevin Flinn, Hannah Podsednik, Gage Lee, Payne Lee, and Kate Woody.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Martin's Cemetery Association or the Alzheimer's Association.
