Thomas Hollingsworth

August 31, 1938 — January 14, 2010

Thomas Dwain Hollingsworth, age 71, of West, passed away Thursday evening, January 14, 2010 at his residence. The family will receive visitors from 1:00 p.m. Monday until service time at the funeral home. A rosary will be recited 2:00 p.m. Monday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West by Rev. Anthony Odiong. Military Graveside Rites will follow at Bold Springs Cemetery, conducted by West V.F.W. Post No. 4819. Mr. Hollingsworth was born on August 31, 1938 in Speegleville, the son of Berry Lee and Lottie E. (McHenry) Hollingsworth. He attended school in Elm Mott and graduated from Connally High School in 1956. Thomas served his country in the United States Army and Air Force for over twenty years working with the military air weather service until he was honorably discharged. Upon his return, he received an Applied Science Degree in Civil Engineering Technology from Texas State Technical Institute in 1975. He also worked as a surveyor for the City of Waco for several years. Thomas enjoyed reading. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. He was also a Master Mason and member of the Fidelis Masonic Lodge #1127 in Waco. He was preceded in death by his father; a sister-in-law, Donna M. Hollingsworth; and a great-nephew, Rance Donnell. Survivors include his mother, Lottie E. Hollingsworth of West; two brothers, David "Shorty" Hollingsworth of West and Albert Hollingsworth and wife Annette of Lacy Lakeview; a sister, Peggy Hollingsworth Davidson of Lacy Lakeview; eight nieces and nephews, Darren Davidson and wife Sharon, Randy Davidson, Ronald Davidson, James Hollingsworth, Jay Maler, Vicky Goodwin and husband Stacy, Mike Hollingsworth and Kimberly Hollingsworth; many great nieces and great nephews; and several other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Darren Davidson, Randy Davidson, Ronald Davidson, James Hollingsworth, Mike Hollingsworth and Stacy Goodwin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption.
