Thomas Eugene Kutscherousky, Sr.

Thomas E. "Tommy" Kutscherousky Sr., age 75, of West, passed away late Friday afternoon, September 1, 2023 at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.


A Divine Mercy Chaplet and Rosary will be recited 3:00 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, followed by visitation until 5:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 11, 2023 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant, assisted by Deacon Ronnie Sykora. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.


Tommy was born September 2, 1947 in Waco, the son of August John and Bernice (Dulock) Kutscherousky. He attended St. Mary's School, and was a 1966 graduate of West High School prior to attending Hill Junior College in Hillsboro. On October 31, 1970 he was united in marriage to Bernadette Mynar in Abbott. Tommy was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2305, Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Msgr. George Doskocil Assembly #2391, KJT Society #31, was a past president of St. Mary's Catholic Church Advisory Committee, and Young Farmers Association, where he received Farmer of the Year Award. Tommy was a director of the Hilltop Water Supply Board for over 44 years and was currently serving as President of the board for over 9 years. He was a lifelong farmer/rancher with his family and the owner of Kutscherousky Farms. Tommy enjoyed watching western movies, listening to Czech music, checking on his cattle, and was a dedicated supporter of all the local benefits in West and the surrounding communities. He loved telling stories and joking around with all his friends, attending auctions, and buying old farm equipment. Tommy especially loved spending time with his family and attending all his grandchildren's activities.


Tommy is preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Ben and Helen Mynar; a brother, Mark Kutscherousky; sisters, Rita Michael, Denise Carlile, and an infant, Ann Kutscherousky; his niece and Goddaughter, Ashton Marek; a nephew, Chase Kutscherousky; and brothers-in-law, Wilfred Rieger Sr., Bennie Mynar Sr., and Larry Mynar Sr.


Survivors include his beloved wife of 52 years, Bernadette Kutscherousky of West; his children, Roxane Hutyra and husband David of Spring, Michele Kreder and husband Joe of West, Tommy Kutscherousky Jr. and wife Mandy of West, Eric Kutscherousky and fiance Mandy Caddell of Coolidge, and Lacey Jones and husband TJ of Wichita Falls; his grandchildren, Callie Hutyra, Jenna Hutyra, Emma Hutyra, Hartley Kutscherousky, Morgan Talamantez, Camen Talamantez, Jordyn Kutscherousky, Jadyn Kutscherousky, Jillian Kutscherousky, Cole Kutscherousky, Jaden Caddell, Lilli Caddell, Corbin Caddell, Waylyn Jones, and Taos Jones; brothers, Dennis Kutscherousky and wife Jane, Adrian Kutscherousky, Tim Kutscherousky, and Gerald Kutscherousky and wife Vicki; sisters, Annette Phipps, Deanna Marek and husband Michael, Mary Piske, Caroline Sullins and husband Tim, and Karen Schaeper; sisters-in-law, Kathy Kutscherousky, Jeanette Rieger, Lillie Marie Mynar, Barbara Mynar, Rose Mynar, Helen Snider and husband Edward, and Gloria Allen; brothers-in-law, Mel Michael, James Carlile, and Marvin Mynar; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


Active pallbearers are David Hutyra, Joe Kreder, TJ Jones, Ernest Kutscherousky. Gary Adair, and David Girard. Honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren, Rev. Anthony Odiong and Rev. Vincent Chacko.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's School or St. Mary's Cemetery Association.
