Theresa E. Petter

Theresa Elizabeth (Leuschner) Petter, age 99, of Waco, passed away early Monday morning, September 5, 2011 at her residence. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Gerald Cemetery near Leroy, with the Rev. Scott Spence officiating. Mrs. Petter was born on July 26, 1912 in West, the daughter of Chris and Kathrine (Lander) Leuschner. She attended schools in the Gerald area. On April 22, 1936 she was united in marriage to Edmund Frank Petter in Gerald. He preceded her in death on December 17, 1972. Theresa was a homemaker. She was a faithful member of St. John's United Church of Christ of Robinson. Theresa was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Willie Leuschner and Henry Leuschner; and four sisters, Amanda Jupe, Elsie Leuschner, Malinda Leuschner, and Otillie Leuschner. Survivors include two daughters, Margie Petter of Waco and Bonnie Pace and husband Bert of Plano; two grandchildren, Cynthia Nork and husband Michael of McKinney and Sandra Granberry and husband Steve of Temple; four great-grandchildren, Austin and Andrew Nork and Dustin and Dana Granberry; and a niece, Mildred Jupe of Robinson. Memorials may be made to the St. John's United Church of Christ of Robinson. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. James Copeland and Staff and Dr. Robert Gardere and Staff for all of their loving care while she was ill.
