Sgt. Teddy Alan Nichols, age 57, of Elm Mott, passed away early Saturday afternoon, July 28, 2018 at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2018 at White Rock Cemetery near Ross, with Minister Sam Armstrong officiating. Military Graveside will be conducted by the West Veterans Honor Guard. Teddy was born July 18, 1961 in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of George "Woody" and Mara Lee "Penny" (Coffee) Nichols. He attended Dover Elementary School and Richardson Junior High and High School, prior to attending Brookhaven Community College in Dallas. He served his country as a Sergeant with the United States Air Force in Germany and Spain. On September 4, 1998, he was united in marriage to Tana Busby in Houston. Teddy was a process engineer for the Goodyear Chemical Plant in Pasadena and currently worked as a building engineer at CBRE, a division of Goldman Sachs in Richardson. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union. Teddy enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, golfing, and going to the beach. He especially loved spending time with his family. Teddy is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Deborah Bridgeford and Cynthia Knight; and father-in-law, Dick Busby. Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Tana Marie Nichols of Elm Mott; his children, Maralee Nichols of Houston, Heather Coleman and husband Lance of China Spring, and Ashley Bohannan and partner A.J. Robinson of Chalk Bluff; a brother, George "Butch" Nichols Jr. and wife Peggy; a sister, Sally Carson; his mother-in-law, Jackie Busby; grandchildren, Hadleigh, Landon and Kota; several nieces and nephews including Noman Dodson; and many other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Jim Montgomery, Richard Busby, Lance Coleman, A.J. Robinson, Christopher Busby and Noman Dodson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Waco Humane Society.
