Sylvester Jackson

Sylvester Jackson, age 78, of Hillsboro, passed away early Wednesday morning, May 30, 2018 at Royal Manor Nursing Home in Waco. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Bold Springs Baptist Church in West, with Rev. James Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Rest Cemetery. Sylvester was born September 17, 1939 in Henderson, the son of Randall Graham and Eleanor "Alise" (Johnson) Taylor. He was united in marriage to Rosie Nell Bolden in Hillsboro and Rosie preceded him in death on January 6, 2015. Sylvester was a mechanic for Reed's Motor Company in Hillsboro for many years. He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. Sylvester was also preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Sylvia Marie Jackson; and three sisters and five brothers. Survivors include his children, Rev. James Jackson and wife Phyllis of West, Selvin Eagan of Hillsboro, Sylvia Perales and husband Angel of San Antonio, Willie Crosby of Hillsboro, Kari Butler of Austin, Kenneth Butler and wife Yvette, Otha Butler and wife Annette, and Bessie Loraine Ransom of Temple; grandchildren, Crystal, Anissa, Kathy, Jamie, Melvin, Jason, Consuelo, Sierra, E. J., Ronnie, Brittani, Morgan, Kevin, Kelvin, Jakob, Micah, and Matthew; 31 great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Nell Ferdowsijah, Jean Mills and husband Billie, and Judy Trimble and husband Vernon; brothers, Waymon Jackson, Alphus Jackson and wife Maria, John Jackson and wife Sandra and Graham Jackson Jr. and wife Beverly; a dedicated sister-in-law, Faye Jackson; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Daniel McGruder, Lynn McGruder, Emanuel Mitchell, Ricky Green, Ty Robinson and Roderick Spencer. Honorary pallbearers are his grandsons and the New Hope Brotherhood. Memorials may be made in Sylvester's memory to New Hope Baptist Church.
