Sue Grmela

Sue Grmela, age 76, of West, passed away late Sunday evening, August 5, 2018 at Crestview Healthcare Residence in Waco. A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Sue was born December 9, 1941 in West, the daughter of Rudolph and Rose (Macha) Grmela. She attended St. Mary's School and was a 1960 graduate of West High School. She worked for Lorch Manufacturing and Wolf Manufacturing in West and worked for TSTC in Waco for 10 years before retiring in 2006. Sue was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court #829. Sue enjoyed sewing, gardening, taking care of her yard and being outdoors. She especially loved spending time with her family. Sue is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Joe Grmela and Henry Grmela; sisters, Margaret Sinkule, Helen Girard and Lois McMillan; nieces, Bridget Sinkule and Carolyn Girard Jones; and nephews, Robert Sinkule and Lawrence Girard. Survivors include her brother, Rudy Grmela and his wife Dorothy of Elm Mott; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are David Girard, Edward Grmela, Jerry Girard, J.R. Sinkule, Mark Sinkule and Tim Sinkule. Honorary pallbearers are her Great Nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church Building Fund or to St. Mary's Cemetery.
