Steve Biles

Steve Ellis Biles, age 47, of West, passed away Saturday evening, May 27, 2006 at Lake Whitney. A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Steve was born on June 26, 1958 in Waco, the son of Robert and Noma (Cannon) Biles. He attended schools in Waco and graduated from University High School in 1976. He then went on to attend Sheet Metal Trade School. On May 1, 1981 he was united in marriage to Cynthia Urbanovsky in West. Steve was a sheet metal journeyman, working for McGill Airflow Sheet Metal Company in Hillsboro for seventeen years and most recently for Lewis and Lambert Sheet Metal Company for the past five years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption and a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local #68. Steve enjoyed fishing, camping, dancing, going to the drag races, and the time he spent coaching West Youth Baseball teams. He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brother, George Biles who passed away on April 12, 1994 and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bernard and Ellen Urbanovsky. Survivors include his beloved wife of 25 years, Cindy Biles of West; his son, Matthew Biles of Arlington; his daughter, Valerie Snokhous of West; his parents, Robert and Noma Biles of Waco; two grandchildren, Zoe Grochoske and Zane Meinen; two brothers, Robert Biles and his wife Bernie of San Antonio and Kenneth Biles of Waco; three sisters, Connie Eaton and her husband Steve and Karen Lytle and her husband Phillip, all of Waco, and Cathy Taylor and her husband Greg of Meridian; three brothers-in-law, Dennis Urbanovsky and his wife Judy of Ross, Bobby Urbanovsky and his wife Patty and Tommy Urbanovsky, all of West; three sisters-in-law, Brenda Hykel and her friend Bobby Willis of Ross, and Debbie Kilgo and Mary Jane Urbanovsky, both of West; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers will be Keith Taylor, Paul Urbanovsky, Darrell Urbanovsky, Gene Hykel, Colby Urbanovsky, Clint Taylor, Brad Lytle, Roby Urbanovsky, Keith Urbanovsky, and Victor Hykel. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Biles, Chris Biles, Sean Biles, Gerald Biles, Dustin Eaton, Levi Eaton, and Josh Lytle. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Youth Baseball Program.
