Stanley A. Miller

Stanley A. Miller, age 78, of Waco, formerly of Whitney, passed away early Wednesday afternoon, December 13, 2006 at Providence Health Center in Waco. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with the Rev. Charley Garrison officiating. Burial will follow at Bold Springs Cemetery near West. The family will receive visitors from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home prior to the service. Mr. Miller was born on November 4, 1928 in West, the son of Tom and Alta (Archer) Miller. He graduated from Abbott High School in 1947 and then went on to attend a business college for one year. He joined the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict. On January 23, 1953, he was united in marriage to Mary Jo Busby in Waco. He worked as a salesman for Barnes Lumber Company in Waco for many years until his retirement in 1982. Stanley loved to spend time with Mary Jo who he called his "Doll Baby" and his children, grandchildren & great grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing and working on cars. He was a member of the Hewitt Church of Christ. His parents and a sister Sara Bell, all precede him in death. Survivors include his beloved wife of 53 years Mary Jo Miller of Waco; two daughters, Patricia Graham and Jim Phillips of Waco and Karen Miller and Tammy Johnson of Lorena; two sisters, Patsy McCoy and husband Bill of Temple, and Mary Jane Little and husband Harvey of Euless; one brother-in-law, James Bell of Rosebud; three grandchildren, Melissa McDaniel of Whitney, Michael Pollock and wife Shawnelle and Allison Pollock and Nick Zufall all of Waco, four great-grandchildren, Daniel Nix, Harley McDaniel, Hope McDaniel and Gavin Pollock; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives including Alyson, Mallory and Jace. Memorials may be made to Hewitt Church of Christ.
