Shirley M. Winkle, age 81, of West, passed away early Wednesday morning, October 7, 2015 at Homesteader's Nursing and Rehab in Hillsboro. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Liberty Grove Cemetery near West, with Rev. Lilly Leman officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home. Shirley was born May 13, 1934 in Belton, the daughter of Robert and Icie (Browning) Densman. She attended school in Roswell, New Mexico and on June 10, 1960 Shirley was united in marriage to William "Billy" Winkle in West. He preceded her in death on February 22, 2004. She worked for Marathon Battery over 20 years before her retirement in 1999. Shirley was a member of the First United Church of West. She enjoyed fishing, camping and playing bingo. Shirley is also preceded in death by her brothers Ernest Densman, Johnny Densman, Carl Densman, Leroy Densman and Clayton Densman; and her sisters, Joyce Densman and Mary Sexton. Survivors include her sisters, Nelda Ashley, Callie Marek, Kathy Bartley, Carolyn Bartley and Brenda Bennett; special niece and nephew, Danny Harris and Bonnie Harris; several great nieces and great nephews including, Jamie Williams and Tarrah Bailey; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Church of West.
