Sherman Baranowski, age 71, of West, passed away late Friday evening, April 16, 2021 at his residence in West. A rosary will be recited 10:30 a.m. with a memorial visitation to follow until 12 noon on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West. Limited capacity, facial masks, and social distancing are encouraged at all services. Sherman was born November 21, 1949 in Marlin, the son of the late Mary Glockzin. He was a 1967 graduate of Marlin High School. He went on to attend Texas A&M University and Tarleton University where he completed his Master's Degree. On June 5, 1976 he was united in marriage to Melanie Miner in El Paso. Sherman and Melanie moved to West in 1985 where they raised their two daughters. He worked for AAFES in Waco as an inventory control specialist for 25 years before retiring in 2009. Sherman enjoyed bird watching, watching old movies, reading about history, and spending time with his family. Survivors include his beloved wife of 45 years, Melanie Baranowski of West; his two daughters, Sarah Baranowski of Waco and Grace Baranowski of Austin; and many other friends. Honorary pallbearers are E. Harvey Craig, Jimmy Ballinger, Pat Wertheim, Jerry Gage, Kevin Maler, Ankit Patel, and the students on Bus 31. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to National Audubon Society or Providence Hospice Place.
