Shawn Chudej

Shawn Christopher Chudej, age 34, of Gholson, passed away early Sunday morning, May 8, 2016 at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Waco. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2016 at St. Marys Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Paul Hudson as celebrant. Military Graveside Rites will follow at White Rock Cemetery near Ross, conducted by West Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. Shawn was born September 29, 1981 in West, the son of Johnny and Barbara (Brummett) Chudej. He was a 2000 graduate of West High School. Shawn proudly served his country in the United States Marines from 2000 until 2005. He was stationed at Fort Buford, South Carolina, and served in Djibouti, South Africa and Somalia, Africa. Shawn was united in marriage to Heather Nicole Coleman on April 30, 2010 in Waco. He had worked in industrial maintenance at AAFES in Waco for 7 years. Shawn was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. He was also a member of West V.F.W. Post No. 4819 and KJT Society No. 31. Shawn enjoyed fishing, playing cards, shooting pool and playing the Marble game. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends. Shawn is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his beloved wife, Heather Chudej; a son, Jacob Chudej; two daughters, Skyloh Chudej and Nicole Chudej; a sister, Michelle Holt and husband Douglas; his mother-in-law, Deborah Mitchell; brother-in-law, Wesley Harris; sister-in-law, Stephanie Randi and husband Daniel; nephews, Dylan Holt and Gage Randi; nieces, Laci Holt, Aubrey Randi, Faith Harris and Hope Harris; and many other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Steven Whited, Chris Perez, Colby McHargue, Richard Caldara, Jonathan Cureton, Zach Clark, Chad Goetz and Stephen McDaniel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
