Sarah Newell

Sarah Newell, age 80, of Roseburg, Oregon (formerly of Waco) passed away early Friday morning, November 11, 2022 at Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest Hospital in Waco.

Per family request, a Memorial Graveside Service will be held at a later date.

Sarah was born November 26, 1941 in Borger, the daughter of George and Anna (Horn) Gibbs.  She was a 1960 graduate of Axtell High School.  On December 20, 1963 she was united in marriage to Gerald Newell in Waco.  Sarah worked for Umpqua Community College for 26 years.  She enjoyed quilting and  reading.  She was very dedicated to her family and dearly loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Sarah is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Luann Newell; and a sister, Martha Irene Gibbs.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 59 years, Gerald Newell of Roseburg, OR; children, George Newell and Sheri Newell, both of Roseburg, OR; brothers, O'Neal Gibbs and wife Lois, Dan Gibbs, and George Gibbs and wife Vickie; a sister, Ann Gibbs; grandchildren, Ryan O'Neal and wife Meredith, Gerald Newell, John Malone and wife Chiharu, and Tyler Newell and wife Lauren; great grandchildren, Eligh Newell, Taytumn Newell, Calloway Newell, Kazuao Malone, Kaiemi Malone, and Uriah Newell; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fuzzy Friends.
