Santiago Rodarte

Santiago Rodarte Rodriguez, age 92, of West, passed away late Friday morning, August 14, 2015 at Greenview Manor in Waco. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 3:00 p.m. Monday, August 17, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Vincent Romuald as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home. Santiago was born June 15, 1923 in Chalchihuites, Zacatecas, Mexico, the son of Juan Rodarte Martinez and Maria Rodriguez. He was united in marriage to Josefina Arce on January 2, 1954 in Mexico. He worked for the West Fertilizer Plant for many years. Santiago enjoyed walking, playing pool, farming and gardening. He especially loved spending time with family and tending to his animals. Survivors include his wife, Josefina Arce; sons, Miguel Rodarte and wife Martina, Anastacio Rodarte and wife Antonia and Sergio Rodarte and wife Maria; daughters, Maria Torres and husband Antonio, Anparo Rodarte and husband Faustino and Elisa Rodarte; brother, Salvador Rodarte; sister, Aurora Rodarte Rodriguez and husband Luis; grandchildren, Miguel Jr., Noe, Osiel, Angela, Israel, Tony, Maritza, Abraham, Macrina, Ismael, Rafael, Adrian, William and Mariela; great grandsons, Israel and Nicholas; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Miguel Rodarte, Sergio Rodarte, Atanacio Rodarte, Israel Torres, Noe Rodarte, Miguel Rodarte Jr., Tony Torres and Osiel Rodarte. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Waco Humane Society.
