Sandra Jo Holder, age 45, of Ross, passed away early Saturday morning, September 27, 2008 at her residence. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Bold Springs Cemetery near West, with the Chaplain Larry Holden officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Holder was born on November 27, 1962 in Angleton, the daughter of James Andrew Shelton and Virginia Lee (Burroughs) Lacaze. She attended Brazoswood School in Clute. On November 14, 1984, she was united in marriage to Vernon Truett Holder, Jr. in Angleton. Sandra worked as a manager at Ross Truck Stop for over ten years. She also was a homemaker and loved cooking and spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her parents and grandmother, Rose Burroughs. Survivors include her husband, Vernon Holder, Jr. of Ross; four sons, Donald Fletcher of Rayville, Louisiana, Shaun Holder, Vernon Holder III and Joseph Holder, all of West; one daughter, Shannon "Nicki" Holder of Kingsport, Tennessee; four brothers, Ricky Shelton of Carlsbad, New Mexico, Jimmy Shelton of West Columbia, Darryl Shelton of Houston and Kenny Lacaze of Brazoria; sisters, Kathy Shelton of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Alicia Heisler of Hockley and Karen Shelton; three grandchildren, Kavin, Brody, and Maddison; her step-father, Robert Lacaze, her mother and father-in-law, Vernon and Ruby Holder; her grandmother, Ann Stheim; her step-brothers, Bobby Lacaze and Phillip Lacaze; her dog, Baby Girl; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hillcrest Community Hospice.
