Sally Thurman

Sally Thurman, age 63, of Waco, passed away late Tuesday morning, May 9, 2017 peacefully with her dogs at her residence. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Sally was born June 11, 1953 in Waco, the daughter of Marguerite (Taylor) and Melvin Lee Thurman. She was a 1971 graduate of Richfield High School in Waco. Sally then attended Baylor University, receiving her Bachelor's of Business Administration Degree in Economics/Finance in 1975. She had and raised two daughters and then went on to complete a Masters in Early Childhood Development. She was a teacher at Waco Montessori School for a number of years. Sally then proudly owned her own business in Waco as a well respected real estate appraiser. She enjoyed working in her yard, taking care of her animals and flowers, barbecuing and water skiing. Sally had a deep love of great music and was very proud of her daughters. Her true love in life was spending time with her granddaughter, Katherine. Sally is preceded in death by her parents and her twin sister, Margie Thurman. Survivors include two daughters, Morgan McGregor and partner Jeffery Sanders of Waco, and Lindsay McGregor and partner Glenn Wallace of Dallas; her granddaughter, Katherine Sanders; loving cousins in Austin and Fort Worth; and a brother, Mel Thurman. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Bosque Animal Rescue Kennel in Clifton.
