Ruth M. Lehmann

Ruth Lehmann, age 87, of West, passed away early Sunday morning, February 23, 2014 at Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Gerald with Rev. Sharyl West Loeung officiating. Burial will follow at Gerald Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. Ruth was born December 30, 1926 in Elm Mott, the daughter of Julius E. and Frances (Klumb) Damm. She attended schools in West and later graduated from The University of Texas at Austin. On September 7, 1947 she was united in marriage to Paul A. Lehmann in Gerald. Paul preceded her in death on December 17, 2009. Ruth was a homemaker and teacher. She was a longtime and faithful member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ where she was active in the Women's Guild. Ruth is also preceded in death by her parents; by three of her brothers, Julius, Vernon and Walter; and by her sisters, Dorothy Hollingsworth and Mary Ramos. Survivors include her brother, Edward Damm; four sons, Paul B. Lehmann and wife Rebecca, Robert Lehmann and wife Karyn, and Steve Lehmann and wife Diana, all of Sacramento, California, and Clyde Lehmann and wife Nicole of San Antonio; a daughter, Frances Bunge and husband Robert of Sacramento, California; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul's United Church of Christ Memorial Fund, 117 Gerald Lane, Elm Mott, TX 76640.
