Ruth Greenhill Allen

Ruth Greenhill Allen, age 90, of Clifton, passed away early Thursday morning, August 15, 2013 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Wayne DeDear and Pat Richardson officiating. Burial will follow at White Rock Cemetery near Ross. The family will receive visitors 10:00 a.m. Saturday until service time at the funeral home. Ruth was born November 23, 1922 in McLennan County the daughter of Wilhelm and Christine (Rathbauer) Simecek. She served her country with the United States Navy WAVES during World War II as a decoder. Ruth was united in marriage to Billie Roe Greenhill in September of 1940 he preceded her in death in December of 1987. She then married Robert Allen in March of 1990 he also preceded her in death in July of 2008. Ruth was a member of the Valley Mills Church of Christ and formerly churches in Hillsboro, Victoria and West. She was a substitute teacher for the Victoria, Hillsboro and West Independent School Districts. Ruth enjoyed studying the Bible, cooking, doing yard work and entertaining. She especially loved spending time with her family. Ruth is also preceded in death by her parents; sons, Ted Greenhill and Roland Greenhill; granddaughter, Missy Greenhill; and a sister, Mary Lovecky. Survivors include a son, Bobby Allen and wife Janice; a daughter, Wynona Drake and husband Hollie; a daughter-in-law, Melissa Greenhill; a sister, Frances Hykel; a sister-in-law, Ruth Girard; grandsons, Erik Greenhill and Greg Greenhill and wife Marsha; great grandchildren, Rylee, Brett and Luke; a special niece, Lynn Pearson; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Bob Allen, Ed Girard, Jeff Jones, Sam Munn, Chris Pearson and Steven Pearson. Honorary pallbearers are Erik Greenhill and Greg Greenhill. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Valley Mills Church of Christ.
