Ruth Dudik

Ruth Dudik, age 87, of West, passed away early Sunday afternoon, August 23, 2015 at Regent Care in Waco. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. at Aderhold Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Penelope, with Rev. Ouseph Thekkumthala as celebrant, assisted by Deacon Denver Crawley. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near Penelope. Ruth was born July 5, 1928 in West, the daughter of Ludvik and Mary C. (Matus) Gerik. She attended school near Cottonwood. On November 4, 1947 she was united in marriage to Robert Dudik in West. Robert preceded her in death on June 19, 1996. Ruth was a seamstress for Kreditor's Sewing Company in Hubbard for twenty years. She also worked at the Village Bakery in West. Ruth was a homemaker and loved to cook and bake kolaches. She also enjoyed sewing, canning, flowers, gardening and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a longtime member of Church of the Nativity, B.V.M. in Penelope. She was also a member of KJZT Society in Penelope and SPJST Lodge 6 in Cottonwood. Ruth is also preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Derek Kolar; a great-grandson, Chase Reynolds; a great granddaughter, Faith Demaree; and three sisters, Mary Marek, Christine Soukup and Violet Parma. Survivors include two sons, Auther Dudik and wife Susan of Hubbard and Jerry Dudik and wife Sharon of Elm Mott; three daughters, Patricia Winder and husband Dale of Elm Mott, Odilia Kolar and husband Harry of West and Cynthia Hendrix and husband Vincent of Bellmead; two brothers, Alfons Gerik and wife Doris and Lawrence Gerik and wife Linda; a sister, Leona Whiteley and husband Jackie; a brother-in-law, Johnnie Soukup; fourteen grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Robert Hendrix, Bryan Kolar, Jason Dudik, Lance Reynolds, Brandon Reynolds and Jeremy Dudik. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Penelope, Providence Hospice or the charity of your choice.
