Roy L. Pack, age 65, of Hewitt, formerly of West, passed away Wednesday evening, June 11, 2008 in Temple. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Gerald Cemetery near Leroy, with Pastor Jim Menke officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Pack was born October 31, 1942 in Waco, the son of Roy Lester Pack and Willie Mae Kaluza. He attended school at Temple Lutheran Academy. On June 22, 1963 he was united in marriage to Tura Anita Smith in Waco. She preceded him in death on June 4, 2001. He was an auto mechanic technician and owned Roy Pack Automotive in Waco for over 25 years, having retired in 2004. He was a member of the HOT Classic Chevy Club, and also loved fishing, classic cars, racing, and especially his grandkids. Survivors include one son, James Pack and wife Patricia of McGregor; three daughters, Pamela Huepers and husband Claud of West, Connie Jares and friend Mike Valdez of Hewitt, and Summer Powers and husband Bruce, also of Hewitt; five brothers, two sisters; 12 grandchildren, Amanda and husband John Goray, Shane Pack, Bryan and Anthony Holcomb, Tierney Durden, Courtney, Allison and Meagan Jares, Kayla, Stephanie, Hayleigh and McKenze Powers; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be George Thomas, Cotton Tanner, Sammy McMahan, Andy Parsons, Mikki Roberts and J.R. Lucas. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church at Badger Ranch.
