Rose M. Uptmor

Rose M. Uptmor, age 70, of Elm Mott, passed away early Sunday afternoon, October 26, 2008 at Providence Health Center in Waco. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, with Msgr. Isidore Rozycki as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near West. Rose was born on August 23, 1938 in West, the daughter of Frank and Rosie (Chudej) Popp. On May 11, 1956, she was united in marriage to Aubrey Uptmor in Tours. Rose worked for Cox's Department Store for forty years before retiring in 1992. She enjoyed gardening, taking bus trips to Louisiana, dancing, and attending her family's sporting events. She also liked watching baseball games and rodeos and especially loved spending time with her family. Rose was a member of St. Martin's Church in Tours, SPJST Lodge #6 in Cottonwood, and the Catholic Life Association. She is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Doug Uptmor, who died July 5, 1996; and her sister, Josephine Wachsmann. Survivors include her beloved husband of 52 years, Aubrey G. Uptmor of Elm Mott; a daughter, Debbie Ivy and husband Barret of Leroy; a son, Darrell Uptmor and wife Kristin of Houston; a sister, Georgia Wachsmann of Elm Mott; six grandchildren, Chris Ivy and wife Michelle, Heath Ivy and wife Becky, Kimberly Brown and husband James, Todd Ivy and wife Erin, Sheena Uptmor and fianc Isaac Beltran, and Courtney Carter; four great-grandchildren, Sadie & Hannah Ivy and Tennyson & Fallon Rose Ivy; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Active Pallbearers are Chris Ivy, Heath Ivy, Todd Ivy, James Brown, Isaac Beltran, and Barret Ivy. Honorary Pallbearers are Kimberly Brown, Sheena Uptmor, and Courtney Carter. Memorials may be made to St. Martin's CCE Program.
