Rosalie Walla, age 93, of West, passed away late Saturday night, February 28, 2015 at Royal Manor Nursing Home in Waco. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. David Trahan as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosalie was born September 6, 1921 in West, the daughter of Joe and Albina (Marak) Walla. She attended St. Mary's School and was a 1939 graduate of West High School, prior to attending 4-C Business College in Waco. She worked as a legal secretary for the McLennan County District Attorney and several other attorney's in Waco, including Olson and Olson before retiring in 1988. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in West. Rosalie was also a member of the Catholic Daughter of America Court #829, St. Anne's Altar Society and K.J.Z.T. Society #11. She enjoyed playing bingo, traveling, taking gambling trips and spending time with family and friends. Rosalie is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Joe Walla; a sister and brother-in-law, Josephine Ames and her husband Robert; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Walla. Survivors include a brother, Charlie Walla and wife Karen; sisters, Mary Ann Hopkins and husband Charles and Dolores Quin and husband Frank Mike; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Joe W. Walla, Kent Boothe, David Hopkins, Charles Hopkins, Bill Hopkins, Buddy Quin and Andy Walla. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Rest Haven Activity Fund.
