Rosalie (Karlik) Barak, age 84, of West, passed away Monday morning, December 26, 2016 at her residence. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 29, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosalie was born January 9, 1932 in West, the daughter of Frank and Rose (Milberger) Karlik. She attended St. Mary's School and was a 1950 graduate of West High School. On August 22, 1955 she was united in marriage to Gerald J. Barak Sr. in West. Rosalie was a Mother and homemaker. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. She was also a member of the KJZT St. Ludmila Society #11. Rosalie enjoyed going to church, shopping, sitting on the porch swing watching the birds, dancing, cooking, and baking kolaches. She loved taking her children to Cameron Park, spending time with her grandchildren, family gatherings and holidays, especially Christmas. Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents; her twin sister, Dolores Gerik; and a niece, Phyllis Gerik. Survivors include her beloved husband of 61 years, Gerald Barak Sr. of West; her children, Gerald Barak Jr and wife Marilyn of Tours, Sharon Miller and husband John of Plano, Judy Haney and husband Lynn of Waco, and Diane Kalina and David Kofnovec of Abbott; grandchildren, Aaron Barak, Jennifer Barak, Kimberly Clark and husband Robbie, Shari Childers, Sarah Proctor and husband Raymond Jr., Jessica King and husband James, Jared Miller, Tiffany Haney, Candace Haney and Kaylee Kalina; great grandchildren, Landon, Carter, Alex, Alia, Ben, Olivia, Jonah, Maddie, Brie, Noah, Samantha and Evan; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Aaron Barak, Jared Miller, Robbie Clark, Raymond Proctor Jr., James King, Louie Kolar, and Ernie Kolar. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's School Wish List or St. Mary's School Endowment Fund.
