Rosa Lee Riggs

Rosa Lee Riggs, age 78, of West, passed away early Thursday morning, October 14, 2021 at Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Hospital in Waco. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. Rosa was born August 12, 1943 in Panama City, Florida, the daughter of Charles and Eva (Stephens) Gaff. She was a graduate of Bay High School in Panama City. On May 14, 1981 she was united in marriage to Lawrence Riggs in Georgia. Rosa was a cosmetologist for over 30 years. She enjoyed watching westerns, listening to Elvis Presley, and visiting and laughing with friends. She loved spending time with her family and was affectionately known as "Nana" not only to them, but to everyone who knew her. Rosa is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Brian Brooks; brothers, Marion Gaff and Samuel Thomas Gaff; and sisters, Nellie Mae Emmanuel, Martha Essex, and Joanne Record. Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Lawrence Riggs of West; her daughters, Crystal House, April Granberg and husband Jay, and Michelle Cozart; her grandchildren, Lauren Caswell, Brandon Pogue, Haley Pogue, and Nicholas House; a great-granddaughter, Avery Rose Bailey; sister, Betty Powell; brothers, James Cecil Gaff and Richard Gaff; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to ASPCA.
