Ronnie Paul Pustejovsky, age 52, of West, passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 10, 2007 at his residence. A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with the Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant, assisted by Chaplain Brian Pendleton. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Ronnie was born October 9, 1954 in Waco, the son of John Julius and Georgia May (Kolar) Pustejovsky. He was a 1973 graduate of Aquilla High School before earning a degree in Meat Processing from T.S.T.C. in 1974. On June 19, 1976 he was united in marriage to Delma Sue Sullins in Abbott. They owned and operated the Ole Czech Bakery and Smokehouse in West for 18 years. Ronnie also was a rancher and enjoyed raising cattle and being in the pasture. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. He was also active in with the West Ag Boosters, West Longhorn Club, Knights of Columbus Council #2305, the Menlow Water Supply Board, and the West Youth Baseball/Softball Association, where he was a proud sponsor of a baseball team for several years. Ronnie and Delma Sue are very supportive of all community events and he was looked at as a "Dad" to many area boys and girls. He enjoyed riding his horse, hunting, and spending time with his family and friends, especially his granddaughters. He is preceded in death by his father, John J. Pustejovsky, who passed away August 21, 1997; a brother, Rev. Bernard Pustejovsky, who passed away March 15, 1999; and infant twin siblings. Survivors include his beloved wife of 30 years, Delma Sue Pustejovsky of West; one son, Cory Pustejovsky and wife Anne of Abbott; his mother, Georgia Pustejovsky of West; three brothers, Erwin Pustejovsky and wife Rita of Combine, James Pustejovsky and wife Dorothy of Ennis, and Gary Pustejovsky and wife Betsy of Sunnyvale; one sister, Myra Jernigan of Mesquite; two granddaughters, Camille and Ava Pustejovsky and one on the way; parents-in-law, Delmer and Helon Sullins of Hillsboro; a sister-in-law, Linda Smith and her husband Mike; two brothers-in-law, Tim Sullins and wife Caroline and Kim Sullins and his wife Janna; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Pallbearers are Jeffrey Pustejovsky, Steve Jernigan, Kenneth Jernigan, Mike Pustejovsky, Jimmy Pustejovsky, Scooter Pustejovsky, Tyler Sullins, and Brady Smith. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Volunteer Ambulance Association, Providence Hospice, St. Mary's Parish Center or the American Cancer Society. The family wishes to thank Providence Hospice Staff and Volunteers, Aderhold Funeral Home Staff, Knights of Columbus Council #2305, and his family and friends for their love, care and support given through many prayers, cards, and phone calls during Ronnie's long illness.
