Ronnie Keith Reed

Ronnie Keith Reed, age 54, of West, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015 in San Antonio. Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Dr. John Crowder officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Ronnie was born October 26, 1960 in Arlington, the son of Jesse R. and Shirley (Johnson) Reed. He is a 1978 graduate of Abbott High School prior to receiving an associate's degree in diesel mechanics from TSTC. Ronnie was a commercial driving instructor for the Center For Transportation Safety and had been a long-haul truck driver for several trucking companies. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of West. Ronnie enjoyed working on classic cars, hunting and playing golf. He especially loved spending time with his family. Ronnie is preceded in death by his father; a daughter, Caitlyn DeAnne Reed-Goates; and a brother, Terry Reed. Survivors include his girlfriend, Lisa Wood of West; a daughter, Emilie Smith and husband Jesse of West; sons, Keith Reed and wife Leah of Waco and Jarrett Reed of Hubbard; his mother, Shirley Reed of West; a son-in-law, Zach Goates; a brother, Michael Reed and wife Kim; grandchildren, Daniel and Zane Goates; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an educational fund for Daniel and Zane.
