Ronnie Jay Symank, age 56, of Elm Mott, passed away early Sunday afternoon, May 10, 2015 at Providence Hospice Place in Waco. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 14, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Jim Hering officiating. Burial will follow at Gerald Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home. Ronnie was born June 16, 1958 in Waco, the son of the late Dolores (Schuetz) and Henry E. "Eddie" Symank Jr. He graduated from Connally High School in 1977. On July 1, 1977 he was united in marriage to Patricia "Patty" Coleman in Lacy Lakeview. Ronnie was a well known custom home builder for over 31 years and made many friends along the way. He loved to play music with the Heart of Texas Road Gang and was named Steel Guitar Player of the year in 2012 by the Texas Steel Guitar Association. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, hosting big parties at his home, go-karting with the kids, traveling, spending weekends at the lake, being a chauffeur for the girls softball teams, and motorcycle adventures. Ronnie was a member of the Heart of Texas Builders Association, Texas Steel Guitar Association and Heart of Texas Go-Kart Association where he had served as past President for many years. Survivors include his beloved wife of 38 years, Patty Symank of Elm Mott; a son, Stephen Symank and wife Jessica of Gerald; a daughter, Samantha Glick of Buffalo; a brother, Dennis Symank and wife Bonnie; two sisters, Edwina Powell and Melonie Symank; three grandchildren, Jacob Symank, Lawson Symank and Codey Glick; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Billy McFarland, Doug Pierce, Jim Nichols, Ricky Cook, Johnny Hamel, Benji Kirkpatrick, Darrell Whatley and Johnny Dohnalik. Honorary pallbearers are Ralph Salinas, Felix Padilla, Donnie Morgan, Floyd Neal, Jerry Neal, George Adkins and Edward Soukup. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West or the West Volunteer Fire Department.
