Roger Sparkman

Roger Sparkman, age 72, of West, passed away early Sunday morning, June 23, 2019 at his residence. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2019 at Bold Springs Cemetery near West. The family will gather 4:00 p.m. Thursday at the Ross Store for fellowship and continued memories. Roger was born March 18, 1947 in Waco, the son of Ivan and Dorothy (Hollingsworth) Sparkman. He was a graduate of Connally High School. Roger worked for the City of Waco for over 20 years. He also worked for Brown & Root in Ore City and H&B Construction in McGregor. Roger enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes, riding his Polaris ATV, and being outdoors. He especially loved spending time with his family and visiting with his friends at the Ross Store and Tokio Store. Roger is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Steve Sparkman. Survivors include his sons, Gene Sparkman and wife LeeAnne of West, Richard Sparkman and wife Laurel of Huntsville, and James Ivan Sparkman of Moody; grandchildren, Christi Wilson and husband Cody, Wyatt Sparkman, and Emmitt Sparkman; a great grandson, Harlyn; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
