Robert Sparkman, Sr.

Robert Henry Sparkman, of Aquilla, passed away at his residence late Tuesday evening, June 25, 2024, at the age of 64.

A memorial visitation will be held 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2024 at VFW Post 4819 in West.

Robert was born in Waco on January 21, 1960, to George and JoJorrine (Luedke) Sparkman. He lived his childhood in Waco and was a graduate of LaVega High School. Robert joined the Army after high school where he proudly served our country until he was discharged for an injury. Soon after returning home, he married and had three children, Crystal, Kayla, and Robert Jr. Robert  enjoyed living in the country, where he could have his many farm animals. He even taught his children how to ride horses. He loved spending as much time as he could with his family and friends, but especially his kids. He loved spending time out at the lake, being outside, driving and riding around in his truck, and watching westerns. Once his grandchildren were born, he spent his free time spoiling them. He made special nights for them to spend the night and watch their favorite old-time movies on Svengoolie. Robert worked as a grounds keeper for the City of Waco for 15 years before retiring in 2020.

Robert is preceded in death by his father, George Sparkman and a sister, Cathy Sparkman.

Survivors include his mother, JoJorrine Sparkman; his children, daughter Crystal Sparkman Hill and her husband Chris, daughter Kayla Sparkman, and son Robert Sparkman Jr.; his grandchildren, Keylee Hill, Tyler Hill, Randy Grant, Sevanna Wiese, Shyanne Wiese, and Dakota Wiese; a sister, Mattie Gann; a brother, Gerald Sparkman and his wife Connie; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
