Robert S. Swope

Robert S. Swope, age 85, of West, passed away early Sunday morning, May 31, 2015 at Homestead Nursing and Rehab in Hillsboro. As per his wishes, no services will be held. Robert was born December 13, 1929 in Clovis, New Mexico the son of John S. and Nellie (Clark) Swope. He was a graduate of Waco High School. Robert served his country with the United States Army during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Spivey on July 24, 1979 in Waco. Patricia preceded him in death on May 6, 2011. Robert made his living by buying and selling antiques. He enjoyed history and especially loved spending time with his family. Robert is also preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mae Louise Pruitt. Survivors include a daughter, Patti Ellis and husband Daniel of Pflugerville; a son, William R. Swope and wife Sara of West; his granddaughter, Ann-Marie Swope; a brother, Johnny Swope; a sister, Martha Swope; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
