Robert Raymond Svacek, age 64, of San Antonio, formerly of West, passed away late Friday afternoon, March 26, 2021 in San Antonio. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2021 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near West. Limited capacity, facial masks, and social distancing at all services. Robert was born April 23, 1956 in Fort Riley, Kansas the son of the late Raymond and Loretta (Corliss) Svacek. He attended St. Mary's Catholic School and was a 1974 graduate of West High School. In 1978 he received his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Angelo State University in San Angelo where he attended on a full academic scholarship. On November 10, 2016 he was united in marriage to Charlie Mason in San Antonio. Robert was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in San Antonio. He was also a member of the ASU Alpha Chi Chapter and a charter member of the ASU Management Association. He was in the customer service industry becoming manager of Mr. Gatti's, the owner of Cookies By Design, both in Waco, before becoming the manager of HEB in San Antonio. Robert enjoyed running and gardening. He loved taking care of his dogs, Elton and Tigger. Survivors include Charlie Mason of San Antonio; a brother, Paul Svacek and wife Lynda; a sister, Pauline Stearns and husband Allen; nieces and nephews, Keith Hudson and wife Angie, Clay Hudson and wife Carla, Nicholas Svacek, Jennifer Prado and husband Alex Sr., and James Meyer and Eryn Quinlan; great nieces and nephews, Kaleb Hudson, Grace Hudson, Alex Prado Jr., Leilani Prado, Keiley Meyer, James Meyer IV, Brant Carnes, and Beaudee Meyer; and many other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Nicholas Svacek, Keith Hudson, Clay Hudson, Jeff Corliss, John Woody, Clay Mason, James Meyer, and Charlie Mason. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the University of Texas San Antonio School of Nursing Caring for the Caregiver Program (https://makelivesbetter.uthscsa.edu/caregiver ) or the Alzheimer's Association.
