Robert "Bob" Neckar, age 83, of West, passed away early Tuesday morning, August 31, 2021 at Providence Hospice Place in Waco. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Bob was born December 28, 1937 in Tours, the son of the late Robert and Sophie (Cepak) Neckar. He attended school in Tours and graduated West High School in 1956. Bob was a lifelong member of St. Martin's Catholic Church and served on the Parish Council in the mid 1980's. He worked for Chemical Express Carriers Inc. for 30 years until his retirement in 2002. Bob was a farmer in his younger years where he earned the nickname "Plow Boy". He also worked for the Texas Department of Corrections in Huntsville and Big Czech Oil in West. Bob enjoyed listening to polka music and going to dances, which put a twinkle in his eye and a dance in his step. He loved people, giving big bear hugs, and visiting with all of his friends at Big Czech Oil. Over the last year you could find Bob with his new friends at Golden Trails Senior Apartments, with a cup of coffee in his hand, giving elbow bumps and working his little jigs for them. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his children, Kimberly Rackel of West, Penny Nash and husband Steve of Nashville, TN, Robert Neckar of Estes Park, CO, and Gina Neckar and husband Brendan Beehan of Nashville, TN; his brothers, Edward Neckar and wife Jeannie, James Neckar and wife Mary Ann, and David Neckar and wife Lorraine; his sisters, Marie Nors, Frances Buchanan, and Cathy Allen and husband Dudley; grandchildren, Fletcher Beehan, Mallory Cochrane, Charissa James and husband Dan, Ashley Bahena and husband Juan, Kelsey Stevens, and Nicholas Stevens and wife Kassidy; great grandsons, Jayden, Axel, Noah, Jacob, and Harry; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
