Robert Lee Kreid

Robert Lee "Bob" Kreid, age 91, of West, passed away late Tuesday morning, January 30, 2024 at his residence.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 5, 2024 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Pastor Tom Warnock officiating. Military Graveside Rites will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, conducted by West Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive visitors from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Bob was born August 12, 1932 in Evant, the son of Herman and Leora (Smith) Kreid. He attended schools in Evant and was a 1950 graduate of Evant High School prior to attending Tarleton State University in Stephenville. On November 7, 1980 he was united in marriage to Martha Ann "Marty" Trolinger in West. Bob proudly served his country with the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a member of West Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4819, where he faithfully served with and was a founding member of the West Veterans Honor Guard. Bob was a supervisor for General Tire & Rubber Company in Waco for 27 years before retiring in 1985. Prior to that he worked for an aircraft plant in Ft. Worth. After retiring, he spent many years working in the gun department for Praco Gun and Pawn. Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, shooting at the gun range, and was an avid reader and history buff. He was a great fan of Baylor University's Lady Bears Basketball team and the Dallas Cowboys. He loved family get togethers, enjoying great food, and especially watching his granddaughter play softball.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents and his son-in-law, Austin Oldham.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 44 years, Marty Kreid of West; his children, Mark Kreid and wife Mary Ann of Lufkin, Leianne Oldham of Evant, Tim Trolinger and partner John Carroll of Austin, Christopher Trolinger and wife Amanda of West, and Amy Michelle Green and husband Chris of Waco; his grandchildren, Stephen Kreid, Seth Kreid, Ashlei Dove and husband Devin, Addison Oldham and fiance Katie, Ashlee Kaitlyn Langschwager and husband Tyler, and Keri Denae Green; his great grandchildren, Scarlett & Olivia Dove and Phoenix & Olivia Langschwager; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers are Mark Kreid, Tim Trolinger, Chris Trolinger, Chris Green, John Carroll, Jason Shelton, and Jacob Straub. Honorary pallbearers are past and present members of the West Veterans Honor Guard and his grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Accent Care Hospice or St. Mary's Cemetery Association.
