Robert Lednicky

Robert D. "Bob" Lednicky, age 86, of West, passed away Wednesday afternoon, August 11, 2021 at his residence. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Monday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Military Graveside Rites will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, conducted by the West Veterans Honor Guard. Bob was born September 23, 1934 in West, the son of George and Rosie (Gerik) Lednicky. He attended West schools and was a 1953 graduate of West High School. On December 12, 1965 he was united in marriage to Nicole Guerin in Savannah, Georgia. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam Wars and was honorably discharged at the rank of Senior Master Sergeant after 22 years. Bob was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. He was a charter member and instructor of Sokol West and was instrumental in helping with their many fundraisers. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4819 and the KJT Society #31. Bob enjoyed camping, going to the beach, fishing, doing arts and crafts, playing with his dogs, especially FiFi, and barbecuing ribs, pork chops and hamburgers on his grill. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Bob is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jeffrey Lednicky and brothers, Raymond and Larry Lednicky. Survivors include his beloved wife of 56 years, Nicole Lednicky of West; a son, Stephen Lednicky and wife Connie of Waco; a daughter, Melissa Green and Tim Young of West; brother, Bernard Lednicky and wife Sylvia; sister, Joann Dubiel; granddaughters, Robin Banks and husband Shane, Lydia Moore and Chaz Marek, and Alexandrea Moore and Tyler Carsten; great grandchildren, Kevin Banks, Haiden Moore, Jacob Moore, and Ava Carsten; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Chaz Marek, Tyler Carsten, Tim Young, Steve Lednicky, David Lednicky, Patrick Lednicky, Richard Lednicky, Deven Lednicky, and Derek Lednicky. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Volunteer Ambulance Association.
